Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
At Langdale CE Primary School, we value every child as a unique individual, created in the image of God. Guided by our ethos—‘Every Child is Valued. No One Left Behind’—we are committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where all children, regardless of need or ability, are supported to thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
Our SEND provision is rooted in our Christian values and shaped by a deep understanding of each child’s strengths and needs. We personalise learning through thoughtful curriculum adaptations, removing barriers and providing the right support at the right time so that every child can access a broad and balanced education.
We are proud of our Learning Beyond the Classroom approach, which offers rich, real-world experiences that bring learning to life. Through local visits, hands-on activities and values-led teaching, we help children build confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
We work in close partnership with families, external agencies and specialist services—including Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Autism and Hearing Support Teams, Young Carers and Barnardo’s—to provide tailored support through a graduated approach.
Through collaboration, compassion and expertise, we strive to ensure every child feels a sense of belonging, is empowered to reach their full potential and is prepared to make a meaningful contribution to their community and beyond.
The school’s SENDCo is Mrs L Turley. Please email sendco@langdale.cumbria.sch.uk
